Members of SEMAFX (Southeast Michigan Animation and Special Effects Network) pull out the stops to demonstrate the basics of animation with these fun and easy-to-learn methods.

Workshop: Acting For The Camera

Through exercises and skits participants will learn the basics of acting, the differences between stage and film acting and what goes into a good stage performance. Instructor is P.K. Van Voorhees, Artistic Director, The Studio, A Performing Arts Place, www.dancesingact.com.

Workshop: The Art of Makeup

How do actors get to look so good or so bad? Learn the basics of how to apply stage makeup, tricks of the trade and how to make special effects such as scars. Each participant will receive a makeup kit to bring home with them. Instructor is Miranda Hartmann, Artistic Director, All-of-Us Express Children’s Theater.
