Live action, Greece, 18 min., subtitled
East Lansing, MI
Please join the East Lansing Children’s Film Festival on Sunday, February 26, 2006 at South Kedzie Hall on the MSU campus for the screening of Pilala.
12-year-old Adipas can’t wait to watch his country’s running hero compete in the final race of the Olympics. Unfortunately, an electricity failure in his village ruins his big plans. Granddad’s cafĂ© is the only place in town to watch, and Adipas tears the village up getting there. A hilarious quest for Olympic glory, with a gorgeous Greek Isle as the backdrop.
Enjoy Pilala and five other short films that comprise this TeenREEL Program M at 2:10 pm. Recommended for those 12 and older due to mature themes and mild language.
The ELCFF is dedicated to showcasing films from around the globe that enrich, inspire and entertain children and teens without violent or exploitative content. In addition to offering a 7-day festival, the ELCFF is devoted to the highly creative and enriching world of film, a youth film competition that focuses on films made by children in grades K-12, a junior film critics club, and year-round workshops in media literacy, filmmaking, animation, documentary and live-action filmmaking.
