Award winners will be formally recognized and their films will be shown on the “big screen,” at South Kedzie Hall on Michigan State University’s campus.  Films will be shown on Sunday, February 25, at 2:45 p.m. during the festival.  Award winners will also receive prize money: $100 for first place, $50 for second place, and $25 for third place.

Festival Director, Michelle Carlson commented “I feel it is important to support and encourage young film makers, any opportunities that the ELCFF can provide to give these young people a voice and creative outlet as young filmmakers we wish to encourage.”

The 10th annual East Lansing Children’s Film Festival runs from Friday, February 23 through Thursday, March 1, 2007.  Films will be shown at the East Lansing Hannah Community Center, the MSU campus at South Kedzie Hall and NCG Cinema at Eastwood Towne Center in Lansing.  Go to http://www.elcff.com for program schedule and other details.

The ELCFF is a year-round non-profit organization dedicated to showcasing films from around the world that enrich, inspire, educate and entertain children without violent or exploitative content.  Now a seven-day festival, it is devoted to the highly creative and enriching world of film.  Offerings throughout the year include a state-wide youth film competition that focuses on films made by children in grades K-12, year-round media literacy programs and filmmaking workshops for children K-12.
